Hello, World!

I remembered, I signed-in and I am back!

Unfortunately, I have nothing to say at this point in the time except maybe to put here on record how disappointed I am with our fight against the virus.

This pandemic truly made our lives, for almost two years now, very unhappy.

Except for some individuals who made themselves richer because of the pandemic, most of them, the wrong way. Bahala na ang karma sa inyo!

MERi kriSMas

The market closed green but not as green as I imagined it to be. With the US fiscal impasse solved and the bill being signed to law by Obama anytime now, I truly believed that the market would close at least 3% but it only managed 1.19%.

Early in the morning, my spider sense made me sell LTG which was a good decision as it went lower after. From the proceeds, I added some more MERi and kriSMas. Some profit taking thru Welat and down selling due to an advisory from pATRing caused me a loss on MERi but this was offset and more by my gain on kriSMas. Yes, my main account is now just MERi, kriSMas (really loaded) and cash.

Tomorrow is Friday, normally a profit-taking day but the past months our market is acting abnormally so, it could be profit-enhancing day... I wish.

U.S. Fiscal Impasse Solved

Wow! The last time I posted in this blog was... July 24, 2013. And it was not even a real post as I have posted just an issue of the Bulog and Berto comics. I have been "wasting" my time creating comics instead of journalising my sentiments with regard to the Philippine stock market but no regrets as I have received accolades from trader friends.

The U.S. Congress has just voted to halt the 16-day government shutdown and raise the U.S. debt limit, thus ending the drama created by the U.S. fiscal impasse. The agreement will fund the government through January 15, 2014 and suspend the debt limit through February 7. Until then, confrontations on these issues between the Republicans and the Democrats are suspended. President Obama is set to sign the bill tonight. Good news!

But, as of this writing (11:34AM), the PSEi has not absorbed yet the impact of the resolution as the PSEi stands at a meager 0.75%+. Or is it possible that the abovementioned U.S. positive move is already reflected in this morning's market sentiment? Let us see how this develops in the afternoon trading.
